Indrawati made the statement in response to the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) factions, that have highlighted the importance of fiscal sustainability and governance in IKN development.
"The government continues to be disciplined in implementing financing for the IKN development according to the stages listed in the IKN master plan," she informed at the House's plenary meeting.
At the plenary meeting on the government's response to the factions' general view of the 2024 State Budget (APBN) Bill and Financial Memorandum, Indrawati said that synergy and a combination of creative but controlled instruments are supporting the IKN budget fulfillment.
Related to that, the government is encouraging private involvement to empower sovereign funds and develop creative financing schemes for IKN development, she added.
The government has allocated Rp40.6 trillion (US$2.6 billion) for IKN development in 2024.
At least Rp35 trillion (US$2.2 billion) of the total allocated budget has been set aside for the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), as the budget has been prioritized for infrastructure and construction of the government complex.
The PUPR Ministry is targeting to complete basic infrastructure construction at IKN by 2024.
Based on data provided by the PUPR Ministry, the progress of construction of the Presidential Office at IKN Nusantara reached 27.52 percent as of August 17, 2023.
The PUPR Ministry, through the IKN Nusantara infrastructure development implementation task force, is planning to gradually install Garuda blades on the Presidential Office Building in September.
The President's Office is part of the Presidential Palace Area along with the State Palace and Ceremonial Square.
