Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Admiral Yudo Margono led the 43rd ASEAN Summit Security Force Roll Call at Monas, Jakarta, Friday, to check the event's security readiness.

The troop roll call is the final series of security preparations for the 43rd ASEAN Summit. TNI personnel will be deployed under a joint security task command (Kogasgab PAM), with the number of joint security personnel reaching 13,158, while the National Police deployed 6,182 personnel in the 2023 Tri Brata Jaya Operation.

Admiral Margono, as the roll call inspector, noted in his speech that the operation was a form of commitment of the Indonesian security forces in securing the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta.

"This is not just a formality but a form of our commitment in carrying out task," he remarked.

He then stated that the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta was different from the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), as it was not only attended by leaders of ASEAN countries but also leaders of ASEAN partner countries.

The 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta will be attended by 19 state leaders, including ASEAN partner countries.

The Admiral said that the TNI and Polri have succeeded in demonstrating their capacity in securing the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022 and the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, NTT, last May.

Hence, he reminded all personnel involved to jointly demonstrate Indonesia's strength in securing international events.

"The success does not only impact the reputation of security officers but also Indonesia's reputation at the international level," he affirmed.

Margono also reminded TNI personnel to maintain solidity and synergy with the National Police and other security officers by putting aside sectoral egos and strengthening communication and coordination.

In line with Admiral Margono, General Prabowo also reminded his personnel to prioritize humane security.

"This security operation will show Indonesia's security level in international eyes. Please obey the standard operating procedure (SOP), be humane but firm, and stay away from all forms of deviation," he emphasized.
