The ministry's Deputy for Tourism and Creative Economy, Odo R.M. Manuhutu, here on Tuesday underlined the importance of cultural diplomacy to support the potential of the creative and digital economy in Asia.
"Asia's creative and digital economy potentials require the support of cultural diplomacy. This initiative is a form of the government's role in facilitating and creating an ecosystem that supports the advancement of the creative and digital economy for young people," he said.
He informed that his side will try to align the ACE-YS with the implementation of the 2023 ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF), which is also focusing on digital transformation and the creative economy.
The 2023 ACE-YS will take place at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in Jakarta on October 28 and 29, 2023, and involve digital and creative economic players, business people, investors, communities, and policy makers.
With the slogan "New Waves from the SEA," ACE-YS aims to be the youth's center for collective action.
Through ACE-YS, young people can connect with each other in navigating global opportunities in the creative and digital economy, especially in Southeast Asia.
"ACE-YS is an initiative for youths that gathers various stakeholders in the creative and digital ecosystem to meet, share experiences, build cooperation and opportunities, and share policy strategies at the national level," ACE-YS steering committee member Fadhila Hasna Athaya said.
According to her, the event will bring together young creatives across Asia to discuss and push for collective action in creative and digital industries.
The forum will address lack of skills, knowledge, networking, worldwide recognition, and connections with investors.
