Makassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Hasanuddin University (Unhas) in South Sulawesi is making efforts to deepen academic collaboration with Japan's Okayama University, according to an Unhas press release on its website.

As part of the efforts, on Tuesday, the dean of Unhas' Faculty of Public Health, Professor Sukri Palutturi, received a delegation from Okayama University, which comprised three lecturers and 14 students.

The lecturers were Professor Masahiro Kuroda (a radiation oncologist), Dr.Takahiro Kataoka (a radiation technologist), and Dr. Masataka Oita (a medical physicist).

During their visit, the university representatives and Japanese delegates agreed to sign the implementation of an arrangement of a memorandum of agreement (IA/MoA) for broader academic collaboration.

The collaboration includes an exchange program for learning and research, joint research projects and publications, and joint curricula for graduate and postgraduate programs.

As part of the student exchange program, six students of Unhas' Faculty of Public Health completed the program virtually from April 11 to July 25 this year.

At the end of the program, Muhammad Fauzan Idha, who joined the program, gave a presentation on stunting in Indonesia.

The virtual student exchange program also included several students of Unhas' Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry, according to the statement.
