Digital literacy programs have trained around 4.7 million participants from across Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi stated that his side has prepared several digital programs for training micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to go online.

"Kominfo continues to make various efforts to support MSMEs in Indonesia. For example, we initiated the MSME Level Up that is a mentoring and facilitating program for MSMEs to go online," he noted in a press release received here on Friday.

According to Setiadi, MSME Level Up is a program for mentoring MSMEs and serves as a platform for business incubators.

On Thursday (September 21), Minister Setiadi became a speaker at the 2023 AFPI MSME Digital Summit talk show session.

In addition to the mentoring program, Setiadi affirmed that the ministry also supports the "Proud of Indonesia-made Products Movement" (Gernas BBI) that has facilitated tens of millions of MSMEs.

Setiadi pointed out that until June 2023, the movement had facilitated 22 million MSMEs for "onboarding" to the digital ecosystem.

In optimizing digital technology, the ministry presents the National Digital Literacy Movement, the Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS), and the Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA) Program.

"Digital literacy programs have trained around 4.7 million participants from across Indonesia. Meanwhile, the DEA Program equips MSME players with digital entrepreneurship skills and competence," Setiadi added.

So far, this year, at least 30 thousand business actors have received digital training through Kominfo's programs, he highlighted.

Setiadi emphasized that MSMEs have a significant role in the nation's economy, contributing 61.7 percent of the total gross domestic product (GDP).

Hence, the ministry continues to hold strategic programs and implement policies to support digital transformation by involving MSME actors.

"Seeing its great potential, we need to ensure that digital transformation can boost the MSME economy in Indonesia," he remarked.
