The meeting will be held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Bali, on October 15-20, 2023.
"This meeting is to uniform perceptions and positions on various law issues to obtain a common position, a common agreement, and to be conveyed in various international forums, including the UN," Laoly noted on the sidelines of the 61st AALCO Preparation Coordination Meeting here, Wednesday.
Several important matters that will be discussed at the meeting include the latest issues on cyber law, maritime law, environment, sustainable development, trade law, international investment, and other law issues.
Laoly remarked that his ministry will hold another meeting during the 61st AALCO Annual Session, namely a panel discussion on international humanitarian law.

On the same occasion, Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya Bakar noted that with regard to the law in the fields of business and investment, Indonesia is confronted by the EU's Regulation on deforestation-free products that is related to supply chain reasons.
Bakar remarked that Indonesia had rejected this over its discriminatory impacts on palm oil commodities, and through the 61st AALCO Annual Session, the government would shed light on the steps taken to overcome deforestation.
"Regarding the implementation of the AALCO, we, from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, in principle, fully support the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in this agenda," she remarked.
AALCO is an intergovernmental legal consultation forum with 47 member states.
The organization was formed in 1956, and Indonesia is one of the original member states along with the United Arab Republic (now Syria and Egypt), India, Iraq, Japan, Myanmar, and Sri Lanka.
