Jakarta (ANTARA) - The organizing committee of the First High-Level Meeting (HLM) of the Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum has prepared free shuttle buses for the journalists who will cover the event.

The AIS Forum, which was established in 2018 through the Manado Declaration, will bring 51 archipelagic and island states together to collaborate and discuss several matters. Indonesia is one of the countries that proposed the establishment of the forum.

With the shuttle buses, journalists are expected to find it more convenient to cover the inaugural high-level meeting of the forum, which will take place in Badung district, Bali province, on October 10 and 11, 2023.

"We have prepared shuttle buses that will be constantly moving on three routes toward the media center set up for the meeting," Usman Kansong, director general of information and public communication at the Communication and Information Ministry, informed in Jakarta on Friday.

Hopefully, the journalists will make the most of the service to head to and from the media center, he added.

The first route, or Tanjung Benoa Line, will be covered by buses number 1 and 2, which will transport journalists to the media center at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) via Grand Whiz Hotel, Sofitel Hotel, Sol Benoa Bali Hotel, and Conrad Bali Hotel.

The second route, or Nusa Line, will be covered by buses number 3 and 4, which will help media crew travel to the media center via Westin Hotel, Novotel Nusa Dua Bali Hotel, Courtyard Hotel, and Santika Siligita Hotel.

The shuttle buses plying the first and second routes will be available every 60 minutes and will operate from October 8 to 10 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Central Indonesian Standard Time (WITA).

Meanwhile, shuttle buses on the third route will take journalists from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport to the media registration post at Santika Siligita Hotel and the media center at BNDCC.

Buses for the third route will operate from October 6 to 10. They will be available every 60 minutes from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. WITA.
