Jakarta (ANTARA) - Army Chief of Staff, General Dudung Abdurachman, has said that the construction of a dorm for commissioned officers in Berlan, Matraman, East Jakarta, is a form of investment to improve the welfare of soldiers.

According to a statement received here on Saturday, Abdurachman inaugurated the officers' dorm and the new Army Cyber and Crypto Forensic Building at the Army Headquarters Complex in Jakarta on Friday (October 6, 2023).

"This is an investment for their welfare and is a form of Army support for the personnel serving in the Army Headquarters Complex," he said.

He informed that the new dorm has been designed by paying attention to the needs and comfort of soldiers and their families, as well as to provide a place to build a spirit of togetherness and kinship among officers.

The new officers' dorm in Matraman consists of 5 floors and 65 rooms, each measuring 24 square meters.

The building has several facilities and infrastructures, such as a lobby, canteen, lounge, meeting room, and staff room.

Abdurachman asked the Army soldiers to take care of the new building and use it responsibly.

Meanwhile, the Cyber and Crypto Forensic Building reflects the Army's commitment to transforming into a modern military that can adapt to several non-conventional threats, such as cyberattacks, proxy warfare, and network-centric warfare (NCW).

NCW is a type of modern warfare that uses real data and communication networks to connect headquarters or command centers with combat units. Since 2021, the Indonesian military (TNI) has been developing the required infrastructure to anticipate network-based war.

Abdurachman expressed the hope that the existence of the Army Cyber and Crypto Forensic Building would help the soldiers in facing modern war threats.

So far, the Army has set up a Cyber and Crypto Center, which was established in 2020, and a cyber task force, which is stationed at the Army Headquarters.
