"S-TUJU allows tourism and creative economy actors to carry out pre-test and post-test, and download training certificates," director of tourism human resources development at the ministry, Florida Pardosi, said here on Wednesday.
S-TUJU is based on a transformation philosophy that aims to bring a new approach to training human resources, she added.
"This system is not just an application, but a fundamental pillar to advance the tourism industry. The data integration, ease of access, and in-depth analysis presented by S-TUJU enable business actors and trainees to gain a deep understanding of the training," she said.
Meanwhile, acting head of the Yogyakarta Tourism Office, Kurniawan, said that it is necessary to conduct training and mentoring for the development of tourism villages.
Improving human resources in the sector is a follow-up step to the Tourism Awareness Campaign, he added.
In addition, Kurniawan said that the training has to be given not only to tourism actors, but also to local communities.
"For this reason, we welcome the S-TUJU app because it can be a training platform that can be accessed by the wider community," he said.
One of the training participants, Linda Kusumawati from Bumiharjo village, Central Java, expressed her enthusiasm for the training.
"S-TUJU gives us unlimited access to training information. Pre-tests and post-tests give us an illustration of our understanding of the material. Best of all, we can download our training certificates directly from the app," she said.
Earlier, the ministry said that a competence certificate is important for realizing the absorption of the tourism workforce.
With the help of upskilling, reskilling, and new skilling programs, the ministry aims to bolster certified tourism human resources.
