In a press release received in Jakarta on Sunday, he noted that in the current era of global digital transformation, Indonesian young talents should wield reliable digital skills in the hopes of optimizing and prudently responding to the development of information and communication technology.
"Young people's mastery of information technology and digital literacy is paramount," Deputy Patria remarked during the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day at the Communication and Informatics Ministry's Office.
He then highlighted the need for Indonesian youths to fully comprehend both the benefits and risks of the use of artificial intelligence.
The deputy minister also placed emphasis on the importance of augmenting digital skills of Indonesian young people, so they can wisely respond to negative content circulating in the digital space, such as pornography and online gambling.
Hence, he reminded those from the younger generations to prepare themselves with digital skills in the hopes of enabling them to maximize the convenience provided by information and communication technology and avoiding the negative effects.
He expressed hope that the young people of Indonesia, currently dominated by members of Generation Z, would continue to maintain the spirit of collaboration to develop their country, with the objective of realizing the Digital Indonesia 2045 vision.
"Every youth needs to have strategic visions, missions, and roles for the next three decades, so that we can accelerate development. The most efficient strategy is to promote cross-generational and sectoral collaborations," he said.
