Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah noted in a statement received here on Thursday that the training program is part of the efforts to prepare competent and productive human resources required in the construction and development of Nusantara.
On Thursday, Fauziyah opened the Batik Cap Industrial and Business World Training (DUDI) and productivity improvement training held by the ministry in the Nusantara development area in Penajam Paser Utara District, East Kalimantan.
The minister remarked that the training to enhance the quality of human resources should be followed by labor placement programs and assistance for small business actors by other ministries and agencies.
"Our principle is that training, skill certification, job placement, and mentoring them to become business actors are integrated," she noted.
Fauziyah emphasized that efforts to prepare human resources should be adjusted to the needs of workers in the Nusantara area.
"Nusantara, which will become a smart city, certainly requires the supporting capacity of human resources, so the training that is carried out must adjust to the needs of Nusantara as a smart city," she stated.
The minister also praised residents around the Nusantara area that are eager to improve their skills and competency.
"We can imagine preparing facilities and infrastructure, but there is no motivation and enthusiasm in the community to improve competence. Building the national capital is not only a matter of infrastructure but also about the readiness of human resources," Fauziyah stated.
In addition, the Manpower Ministry supports the preparation of competent workers through the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP).
