"This symposium is designed to facilitate interaction between business innovators, decision makers, and educators in order to advance mutually beneficial relations for Indonesia and Poland," Deputy General Chair for Education and Culture of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Heru Dewanto stated during the symposium in Jakarta on Thursday.
"Hopefully, through this symposium, Indonesia can create a space for collaboration to realize the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045," he remarked.
Dewanto stated that the symposium is a forum for knowledge exchange and collaboration among industry leaders, research institutions, and universities in terms of advancements in education, technology, and science to realize the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia Nadiem Makarim, who attended via video link, expressed hope that through the symposium, Indonesia would take a cue from Poland in technology development and then apply the knowledge gained according to the local context.
"We appreciate the initiative of the symposium in the hope of exploring best practices and strategies that can create further collaboration, so that we can develop ed-tech and qualified ed-tech talent in Indonesia," Makarim affirmed.
Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Indonesia Beata Stoczyska lauded the symposium.
Poland welcomes the symposium as a result of inclusive multi-stakeholder collaboration as a forum that allows for meetings and exchange of information between decision makers, educators, and business investors. This is necessary to build mutually beneficial relations between Indonesia and Poland, the ambassador stated.
The international-scale symposium was attended by 75 invited guests comprising decision makers, academics, and industry players from both countries.
Poland is a country with the fastest development rate over the last two decades, which is reflected in its PISA score ranked 11th out of the first 20 countries, with a high level of scientific capabilities.
Based on the Human Capital Index data, Poland is also said to have passed the world average.
