Jakarta (ANTARA) - Director of the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza Atef al-Kahlout stated that the hospital will stop operating, as it had run out of fuel.

"Until Thursday (November 9), we have the remaining 1,100 liters of fuel for our generator. It is only enough for one day," he stated on Thursday.

The Indonesian Hospital will completely stop its operation on Friday if there is no fuel for the generator as a source of electricity, Al-Kahlout said as quoted from the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) account on social media, X.

The Indonesian Hospital in the besieged Gaza Strip is the only hope for Palestinians in northern Gaza amid the ongoing genocidal bombardment that the Israeli occupation forces launch since the military wing of Hamas that rules the overcrowded enclave attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.

Three Indonesian MER-C volunteers -- Fikri Rofiul Haq, Reza Aldilla Kurniawan, and Farid Zanzabil Al Ayubi -- are staying at the hospital. They refused to be evacuated by the Indonesian Government and chose to stay in Gaza to continue their humanitarian work.

Earlier, one of the volunteers, Fikri Rofiul Haq, told ANTARA on November 8 that humanitarian aid had not been able to enter the northern side of Gaza where the Indonesian Hospital is located.

"There were several aid trucks allowed to enter Gaza, but (aid) from these trucks cannot be distributed evenly," he noted.

He stated that humanitarian aid entering from the Rafah border gate in southern Gaza had not yet reached the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza.

"Meanwhile, the central Gaza Strip continues to be bombarded by (Israel) to separate southern Gaza from northern Gaza," he remarked.

Haq said the border gates at Rafah had been closed again and blocked the movement of residents and humanitarian aid.
