Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) is targeting the third phase of the groundbreaking of the new capital city (IKN) Nusantara construction project to be carried out in December 2023.

"We are currently preparing, and the target for December is the next groundbreaking," Deputy for Financing and Investment of the OIKN Agung Wicaksono noted in an online press conference regarding the update on financing and investment of IKN on Monday.

He drew attention to three categories for the third phase of the groundbreaking, namely green areas, areas for supermarkets, grocery stores, hotels, and property developers, as well as buildings of state institutions.

According to Wicaksono, those state institutions include the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), and National Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan).

"And also possibly (it includes) a hospital of the Ministry of Health," he remarked.

The first phase of groundbreaking was conducted on September 21-22, 2023, with a total investment value of Rp23 trillion (around US$1.49 billion). Some 10 Nusantara Consortium companies would build malls, hotels, and offices and contribute plants and green open spaces.

The first phase of groundbreaking includes groundbreaking for the construction of a football training center with FIFA standards and the sustainable energy center of state-run oil and gas company Pertamina.

Meanwhile, the second phase, namely on November 1-2, 2023, with an investment value of Rp12.5 trillion (around US$809.67 million), includes the construction of hospitals, malls, government offices, orangutan sanctuary island, VVIP airport, and public and international schools.

For the third phase of the groundbreaking, Wicaksono is targeting the investment value to reach around Rp10 trillion (around US$647.74 million).

"The next groundbreaking is targeted at Rp10 trillion (investment). Thus, this year, 2023, our (investment) target (in total) is Rp45 trillion (around US$2.91 billion)," he remarked.
