Hartarto noted that by using the INSW system, the government is expected to succeed in boosting the efficiency of export, import, and logistics services that in turn will lead to the strengthening of national competitiveness.
"In the efforts to streamline policies and synchronize business processes in relation to the implementation of INSW, the government, as a facilitator, continues to intensify coordination among ministries and institutions," he remarked in Jakarta on Monday (November 27).
The minister made the statement while chairing the Coordination Meeting of the INSW Steering Committee.
According to Hartarto, the INSW system facilitates a wide range of activities, including business processes prior to and during the arrival of transport, cargo clearance processes, and the departure of cargo from a customs area.
The strengthening of cooperation is crucial, as the activities involve various stakeholders, both from the government and private sector, he noted.
Regarding the issue of data and information management in the INSW system, Hartarto encouraged relevant ministries and institutions to immediately sign a memorandum of understanding with the Finance Ministry to exchange electronic data.
Exchange of data is necessary, so that all ministries and institutions have data that meet their needs for analysis, he explained.
To ensure the smooth running of the INSW system, Hartarto affirmed that each ministry and institution should appoint a contact person and form a unit dedicated to services related to INSW.
"The contact person is expected to play a role in discussions on the issues related to system problems, new regulations, harmonization of business processes, and potential for further integration," he remarked.
At the coordination meeting, Hartarto also drew attention to other strategic issues, including ones related to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
The minister observed that implementation of the SLA constitutes one of the most important components of public services.
"We will continue to support the acceleration of the integration of the SLA" he stated.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi, among others, participated in the meeting.
