"I hope that this meeting will stimulate synergy and collaboration among stakeholders in the tourism and creative economy sectors. I do not want the meeting to be a mere occasion for us to meet without producing any outputs," he noted in a written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The minister made the statement in his opening speech for the national meeting that took place in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday (December 12).
Uno remarked that the meeting, which carried "Advancing Indonesia With Green Tourism and Creative Economy" as its theme, is expected to serve as a forum for parties to bolster and harmonize all programs run by related ministries and agencies.
The minister then emphasized the importance of ensuring the completion of the 2024 National Strategic Projects that have been included in the government's 2024 working plans.
In his speech, Uno also expressed belief that the creative economy can be used for providing people with better prices of food commodities.

"Many people have been expecting a tourism sector that can create job opportunities and a creative economy sector that can stabilize the prices of basic necessities. Hence, I believe we can use the creative economy for suppressing the prices of food products," he remarked.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela Tanoesoedibjo said she believes that both the tourism and creative economy sectors constitute vital keys to strengthen Indonesia's economy in the future.
She then drew attention to the fact that people from the productive age group are currently dominating the population of Indonesia.
"Now is the very momentum we need to optimize this trend of the productive age group. Today, we are expecting those belonging to the group to make the maximum contribution to the economy and the nation," she pointed out.
Tanosoedibjo deemed it crucial for Indonesia to develop the tourism and creative economy sector to provide business and job opportunities for its people, especially those in the productive age group.
