"Our digital literacy rating is modest (3.49 out of 5) for women. Digital literacy is crucial. To raise Indonesia's digital literacy score, we must keep improving," he said on Wednesday.
Setiadi said that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics is fully supporting activities aimed at improving the digital literacy skills of the entire community, including women.
"The digital society is being shaped by digitization. Women, in particular, require literacy in order for efforts that enable women to grasp technology to be more effective," he explained.
To boost women's digital literacy, he recommended the National Digital Literacy Movement (GNLD).
With the movement, his ministry is providing training to the general public, including women, on digital skills, digital ethics, digital culture, and digital security in collaboration with community partners.
"One of the classes distributed by GNLD supports women entrepreneurs in the digital space," Setiadi highlighted.
He also asked people not to create or share content with hate speech, defamatory, and misinformation, particularly ahead of the 2024 elections.
"Content that lowers people's dignity will be removed from social media," he emphasized.
