East Lampung, Lampung (ANTARA) - The ANTARA News Agency on Monday received an award from the Ministry of Manpower as an online media platform that supports the protection of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI).

On behalf of the director of news, Irfan Djunaidi, the head of ANTARA's Lampung bureau, Satyagraha, received the award from Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah.

Fauziyah said the award was a form of appreciation for ANTARA's support in delivering information about the protection of Indonesian migrant workers through the Antaranews.com portal.

"On the commemoration of International Migrant Day 2023, awards were handed over for several parties who care about Indonesian migrant workers," she added.

She said that the appreciation was given to government agencies, the private sector, and empowered migrant workers.

"Congratulations and highest appreciation to all relevant parties for their support in helping protection, expansion of job opportunities abroad, and placement of workers," she remarked.

Meanwhile, Satyagraha said the award will motivate ANTARA to continue to voice issues related to the protection of Indonesian migrant workers so that they can be more creative, empowered, happy, and prosperous.

He added that ANTARA will continue the coverage to support the protection of Indonesian migrant workers.

Meanwhile, at the awards ceremony, Lampung province was named Caring Province for Migrant Workers and West Nusa Tenggara won the best task force for migrant workers' protection award.

Among the migrant workers embarkation/debarkation regions, East Java took the best task force award.

The labor attaché at the Indonesian embassy in Seoul was given the most innovative attaché award in terms of providing services and protection to migrant workers.

Meanwhile, Lantan village of West Nusa Tenggara was named Caring Village for Migrant Workers.
