"There will be groundbreaking for several projects carried out by the government and private sector on Wednesday," Widodo noted in Bogor, West Java, on Tuesday.
He remarked that all parties had expressed enthusiasm in building several facilities in business zones, health zones, and sports zones in IKN.
According to Jokowi, as the president is widely known, the groundbreaking was conducted to encourage all parties to immediately commence construction.
So far, Jokowi has conducted various inspections and inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony for infrastructure development at IKN.

He has inspected and inaugurated the construction of the Presidential and Vice Presidential Palace, ministerial residence, state civil servant (ASN) housing, National Police (Polri) and Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) housing, Bank Indonesia office complex, the Mentawir Nursery, construction of the BPJS Employment office, construction of solar power plants, and construction of Phase I of the National Axis that will become an open space in the IKN Central Government Core Area (KIPP).
Moreover, the president inaugurated the construction of the PSSI training center supported by FIFA, construction of the toll road connecting Balikpapan to IKN, construction of the IKN airport, construction of the Hermina Nusantara Hospital and Mayapada Hospital, construction of the JIS international school, revitalization of the 020 Sepaku state elementary school, and the construction of hotels, apartments, and shopping centers.
The government estimates that infrastructure development in IKN will require a budget of Rp466 trillion. The president remarked that around 20 percent of the budget will be financed by the state budget, while the other 80 percent is being offered to the private sector through a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.
