Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - West Java Acting Governor Bey Triadi Machmudin has sought explanation from the management of Dr. Hasan Sadikin Central General Hospital (RSHS) over an alleged malpractice case of wisdom tooth surgery.

"We have asked the hospital (to provide an explanation), and please do not let it happen again. Please explain it to the public," he stated in Bandung on Wednesday.

Machmudin also underscored the need to prioritize public safety. He then called on the public to exercise patience while awaiting clarification from the hospital.

Earlier, TikTok user, with username @latashaqntas, uploaded a video regarding her disappointment over the hospital's service that allegedly involved malpractice, thereby leading to the death of a patient from Garut District after undergoing several procedures for wisdom teeth surgery.

The video showed that the patient's condition had deteriorated after being anesthetized for the surgery. Several treatments were carried out, but the patient reached a critical condition and died. The patient's family regrets the action, which they consider strange, which led to the death of one of their family members.

In response to this, Medical and Nursing director of Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Iwan Abdul Rachman, via a video from the hospital's public relations, expressed his condolences and affirmed that the hospital had put in all-out efforts to save the patient. However, Rachman did not explain the chronology of events.

"In response to the video circulating on social media regarding the death of one of our patients after receiving treatment from RSHS Bandung, I, representing the hospital community at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, express my condolences over the patient's demise," he stated in a video on December 16.

He also expressed regret over the step taken by the video creator to post the content without prior clarification from the hospital.

In the video, Rachman also sought support and prayers from the community for the hospital to always provide the best possible health services.
