Jakarta (ANTARA) - The State Palace will hold an exhibition showcasing presidential archives and cars to highlight the leadership of seven Indonesian presidents in facing crises during their respective periods, as part of Indonesia’s 77th Independence Day commemoration.

Secretary of State Secretariat Ministry Setya Utama stated during a press conference on the "2022 Independence Month" on Monday that the exhibition will be opened for the public at Sarinah Mall, Jakarta, on August 13-22, 2022.

"We will display (various) archives, including photos, videos, and also documents, that the public might have never seen," he noted.

Utama remarked that through the exhibition, titled "Indonesia Answers," visitors can get a glimpse into the various challenges faced by state heads, right from President Soekarno’s attempts to unite the nation to achieve independence to the policies of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and the current global crisis.

Furthermore, the presidential cars will be displayed at the yard and on the rooftop of Sarinah Mall.

In addition, Utama said that several national archives kept by the State Secretariat would also be displayed during the event

Meanwhile, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin, stated that the event is free for the public.

"We display the presidential archives as part of our attempts to convey to the public (information on presidential activities), and the exhibition is free, so people are welcomed to visit the Sarinah," he stated.

The commemoration of the 2022 Indonesian Independence Day is themed "Recover Faster, Rise Stronger," which is also the theme of Indonesia's Presidency in the G20.
