We urge everyone to participate first-hand in the joyous celebration of the upcoming Indonesian Independence Day
Palangka Raya, Central Kaliman (ANTARA) - The Government of Central Kalimantan called on citizens to celebrate the 77th Independence Day by participating in local events in order to raise the spirit of freedom.

"We urge everyone to participate first-hand in the joyous celebration of the upcoming Indonesian Independence Day," an expert staff of Central Kalimantan Governor, Suhaemi, noted here on Wednesday.

Suhaemi said they encouraged the public to make the occasion lively by doing positive things that would boost the spirit of collaboration, conducted at either the level of neighbourhood, village, or others.

"These range from raising the flag, installing pennants, and hosting various competition, et cetera, as a means to improve relations or (reflect) upon the fighting spirit of the heroes," he affirmed.

Currently, they held discussions with the newly formed committee about the events line-up to commemorate the 77th Independence Day.

A public figure, Yansen, stated that the year was the right time for the regional government to once again commemorate Independence Day in high spirits.

"In the last two years, because of COVID-19, Independence day was celebrated in a rather limited fashion. Since this year, there has been more relaxation, and it becomes a good opportunity for the regional government to call for the public to participate and galvanize the Independence Day celebration," they said.
