The ministry's Deputy for Investment and Mining, Septian Hario Seto, stated that the police and manpower service had conducted an investigation by examining the location and existing evidence.
"We are not speculating and will wait for the results. It is important to ensure that the Standard Operational Procedure for Occupational Health and Safety is implemented properly for safety in the future," he noted in a statement on Thursday.
Seto remarked that the government is focusing to ensure proper health treatment for the victims.
"The company must provide treatment based on the doctor's assessment and the family's requests, so the victim can fully recover," he remarked.
His side also reminded the company to fulfill the rights of the deceased victims, including scholarships for their children until university level and compensation according to the needs of injured victims.

Acting head of Morowali District, Rachmansyah Ismail, stated that as of Wednesday (December 27), the fire accident had killed 19 employees comprising 11 Indonesian citizens (TKI) and eight foreign citizens (TKA). In addition, a total of 10 TKI are receiving outpatient treatment, 14 TKI are being treated at the Morowali District Hospital, six people comprising three TKA and three TKI are undergoing treatment at the IMIP Clinic, eight people consisting of three TKI were referred to Palopo and five TKA were referred to China. Apart from that, two TKI are undergoing independent treatment.
The Morowali District Government provided cash assistance worth Rp167.5 million, comprising Rp77.5 million for the victims who died and Rp90 million for injured victims. The regional government also disbursed 12 ambulance units from villages, community health centers, and community groups around the facility along with six ambulance units from PT IMIP, and four units from other companies.
Meanwhile, PT IMIP, which oversees ITSS operations, confirmed that there was no threat of layoffs for employees who posted videos related to the work accident of the furnace explosion. The company also expects the results of the investigation to provide further clarity.
