Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja stated during a press conference here on Thursday that the agency has received a report that KPU logistics deliveries had no escort and guides.
"Just now, there was a report that the KPU logistics delivery had no supervisors at all. There was only one driver and the truck was left (unattended) when the driver was finding the address of the KPU warehouse. This is just one report," Bagja remarked at the Bawaslu Office.
Bagja noted that the driver's destination in the report was not far from the Jakarta area, so his side urged the KPU to ensure that a similar incident would not recur.
He called on the KPU to always coordinate with local security forces, so that the distribution of election logistics can run safely and smoothly, and they arrive at the polling stations in regions.
"Even though the logistics are not ballots, it indicates that there will be problems if KPU does not contact the local security forces," he remarked.
Earlier, the KPU said it involves the military and the police elements as well as the local governments to assist in the distribution of election logistics, especially to disaster-prone areas and remote regions in the country.
KPU Chairman Hasyim explained that his side had coordinated with all related agencies to support the smooth distribution of logistics for use in the upcoming elections.
The KPU also stated that it would recruit 5.7 million officers for the voting organizing team (KPPS).
