"We have made assurance that the Kupang Election Supervisory Body will deploy escorts for distributing electoral logistics to the border area from Sunday (Apr 14)," Head of the Kupang Bawaslu Martoni Reo remarked when contacted by Antara in Kupang District, Saturday
Reo affirmed that despite the limited number of Kupang Bawaslu commissioners, the election logistics were distributed to the border areas of Kupang District with Oecusse, East Timor, under Bawaslu's escort.
"We will segregate the tasks in a way that Bawaslu officers will stand guard when the electoral logistics are distributed to sub-districts in the border area," Reo remarked.
He explained that Bawaslu was sending its escorts to ascertain safe and timely distribution of logistics in the sub-district for the 2019 election in Kupang District.
"The Supervisory Committee in the sub-district will be in charge of escorting logistics from the sub-district to the village for the implementation of the 2019 election," Reo remarked.
Reo highlighted the importance for Bawaslu to oversee the distribution of electoral logistics since the targeted locations were villages in the interior and isolated areas where transportation access was an issue.
He elaborated that Bawaslu will send escorts to sort logistics, pack, and continue the distribution of logistics from the capital city of Kupang District to sub-districts and villages and TPS. EDITED BY INE
