The Complete Systematic Land Registration (PTSL) Program aims to help expedite the legalization process of people's lands, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Raja Juli Antoni remarked.
"In nine years of his leadership, President Joko Widodo has been making tremendous efforts to swiftly certify a plethora of land parcels," Antoni noted in a statement received in Jakarta on Monday (January 8).
The deputy minister remarked that as of late 2023, the PTSL Program had helped the government register as many as 110.4 million parcels of lands, with 90.5 million of them having been certified. This is a significant increase as compared to 40 million certified land parcels recorded as per 2016.
Antoni underscored that the PTSL Program exists as a revolutionary land registration service, as the program has boosted the annual number of land certifications, from 500 thousand land parcels to seven million since its launch in 2017.
He explained that by getting their lands certified, people will possess legal certainty and new economic opportunities.
"God Willing, certified lands will push land mafias away," he affirmed while handing out 500 land certificates to the people of Siak District, Riau Province, on Monday.
Meanwhile, Head of the Riau Regional Office of the National Land Agency, Asnawati, noted that the land registration target in Siak had been set at 5,450 land parcels, with 3,160 of them meant to be certified.
"Praise be to God, the target in Siak District has been achieved completely," she stated.
Asnawati then extended her appreciation to the Siak District government for its support for the implementation of the PTSL Program.
"We will always expect full support from regional governments for making the PTSL Program a success. Hopefully, regions will formulate policies that can help expedite the PTSL Program implementation, like several districts and cities in Riau did," she remarked.
