At the meeting with the businesspeople held at Assarraa Guest House, Bandar Seri Begawan, on Saturday (January 13), President Jokowi stated that Nusantara is being developed as a forest city with smart technology support.

"This is a commitment to continuing to maintain the island of Kalimantan—Borneo—as the lung of the world, which provides real benefits for the community as well as creating a new magnet for the economy," he said.
According to him, the progress of the core development has reached 70 percent and is targeted to be completed by mid-2024.
In addition, many investments have been received and construction projects have been started, marked by groundbreaking events, he added.
"There are 13 that have carried out groundbreaking work; there are three hospitals, five hotels, and two malls; there is a training center for football; there is also green transportation; and it also includes the Nusantara Superblock in an integrated area with a five-star hotel, entertainment venue, and shopping center," he explained.

He stated that the government had prepared several incentives for investors in IKN in the form of super tax deductions, tax holidays, and import duty exemptions.
