Jakarta (ANTARA) - Recruitment of 2.3 million State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in 2024 prioritizes finding digital talents to support bureaucratic digitalization currently carried out by the government, the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) stated.

"Hence, now, of course, we want to get digital talents from the 2.3 million of ASN positions that have been announced by the president," Secretary of the Ministry of PANRB Rini Widyantini, representing the minister of PANRB, noted on the sidelines of the Taspen Day event themed "Young Working Old Happy with Taspen" in Jakarta on Tuesday.

This year, the government opened 2,302,543 vacancies for candidates for State Civil Apparatus (CASN). The total quota includes 420,183 positions at central agencies, 6,027 positions at official schools, and 1,867,333 positions at regional agencies.

In her speech, Widyantini stated that the 2024 ASN recruitment was also directed at supporting the continuation of the government's bureaucratic reform. With so many digital talents working in government agencies, it is hoped that they will be able to respond to several employment challenges arising from the current Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Widyantini stated that government agencies would largely have members of the younger generation. Hence, to this end, there is the need to possess several abilities or skills. The requisite skillsets comprise the ability to think creatively, including conceptualizing ideas; possessing design and visual skills; and being innovative.

"We need children who are full of ideas, with design and virtual skills, communication skills, and so on," she remarked.

Another important aspect is possessing technological skills, such as the understanding to use software, operate programming languages, and the ability to analyze data.

The third crucial aspect is having sound communication skills, which include speaking, writing, listening, and negotiating, while the fourth vital requirement is possessing management and leadership abilities, such as managerial abilities and decision-making skills.

"(Members of) the younger generation, who carry out bureaucracy, are the engines of development, right? Hence, we are all engines of development. That is why reform is so necessary," she concluded.
