"Today, I officiated the groundbreaking of the OIKN office," the president noted in his remarks at the groundbreaking event that was followed virtually from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel on Wednesday.
He explained that the OIKN office building will comprise the main building, data center building, and regional infrastructure, with a capacity of up to 600 people in the first stage of construction.
In addition, the building intended for OIKN employees will be built on an area of around 28 thousand square meters, with a construction value of Rp509 billion, he stated.
Apart from the data center, the OIKN office building will also be equipped with a command center and an urban gallery to provide real-time services to the public, Jokowi stated.
The head of state expressed hope that the office building would be completed soon to arrange IKN Authority activities to be more organized, centralized, and optimal.
"(With this office building), employees can work more comfortably and productively to support the development of IKN Nusantara," he stated.
On the same occasion, Head of OIKN, Bambang Susantono, noted that the office would also function as a City Hall, with the completion targeted in December 2024.
In the first stage, construction was carried out on the main office building and data center building.
"This data center will become the control center for the smart city at IKN. The office will also use the concept of smart, green, and sustainable office that encourages new cultures that can become an example for other offices at IKN and Indonesia," Susantono remarked.
