Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Housing of the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Ministry stated that 1,217,794 units were built under the One Million Houses Program (PSR) in 2023.

"The One Million Houses Program (PSR) is an acceleration and collaboration movement between the government and housing developers to provide adequate housing for the community," the ministry's Director General of Housing, Iwan Suprijanto, noted in a statement on Friday.

Suprijanto remarked that the Indonesian government is keen to accommodate the public in buying habitable houses as a result of infrastructure and housing sector development.

He stated that this realization is due to the involvement of the Directorate General of Housing (DJP) and Directorate General of Infrastructure and Housing Financing (DJPI) from the PUPR Ministry, other ministries and institutions, regional governments, developers of subsidized housing and commercial housing, and the community.

The program was able to realize 1,010,142 units for low-income communities (MBR) and 207,652 non-MBR units, he revealed.

Suprijanto stated that PSR is a pro-people program launched by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on April 29, 2015, in Central Java.

Data from the ministry showed that to date, the achievements of PSR from 2015 to 2022 had reached 7,988,585 units.

"The 2023 PSR achievement target is calculated based on the PSR achievements of the past three years and Indonesia's economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2022. We hope that the achievements will continue to increase every year along with the growth of the Indonesian economy," he remarked.

Data from the Directorate General of Housing recorded the total achievements of the PSR in 2023 had reached 1,217,794 units.

This achievement comprises the contribution of the Ministry of PUPR (DJP and DJPI) reaching 396,943 units; other ministries and institutions, 45,505 units; and regional governments, 94,586 units.

Moreover, the contribution of non-FLPP subsidy developers (Housing Financing Liquidity Facilities) amounted to 435,946 units; corporate social responsibility (CSR) housing, 7,500 units; and 29,662 units from the community.

Meanwhile, 155,464 units of non-MBR housing came from commercial developers and 52,188 units from the community.
