Jakarta (ANTARA) - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin inaugurated the Fatmawati Orthopaedic Center as an integrated executive-class orthopaedic facility at the Fatmawati Central Public Hospital in Jakarta, Friday.

"We need to have an executive wing to attract patients with high financial capacity to come here, a vertical hospital. Services offered here will be available even at night," he remarked at the hospital.

According to Health Minister's Regulation No. 26 of 2022, vertical hospitals refer to those offering comprehensive services under the Ministry of Health.

Sadikin noted that the government developed the executive-class orthopaedic center, with the aim of elevating the living standards of medical workers instead of gaining economic benefits.

"The orthopaedic center will make this hospital more socialist since the government will not take benefits from the income flowing," he pointed out.

The minister then remarked that the income gained from services offered by the newly officiated orthopaedic center will be used for subsidizing the costs of medical treatments needed by people suffering from severe diseases.

He expressed belief that the Fatmawati Orthopaedic Center would drive other public hospitals to establish a similar facility.

Acting Director of the Fatmawati Central Public Hospital, Dr. Mohammad Syahril, stated that the executive-class orthopaedic center operates in an existing building, eliminating the need to construct another one.

He further noted that the orthopaedic center is equipped with three outpatient rooms, eight inpatient rooms, and seven Modular Operation Theatre surgery rooms.

"The center currently empowers 16 orthopaedic doctors from eight sub-specializations," he added.

Syahril then expressed hope that the Fatmawati Orthopaedic Center would help Indonesia bring progress to the development of quality of its orthopaedic services while providing the Fatmawati Hospital with the budget required for further development.
