Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan aimed to focus on human development by bringing equality and justice when conveying his vision and mission in the fifth debate in the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election on Sunday.

He outlined four points of his vision and missions: rapid help for sick people; encouraging intelligence at affordable costs; realizing prosperous families with decent wages; and providing social assistance+ according to community needs.

"In carrying out our mandate, we will be consistent in our words and actions while upholding honesty and wisdom," he said in his remarks during the debate.

Anies said that human development will bring equality, justice, and unity.

"Now, it is time for a change," he emphasized.

Moreover, he also addressed the main problems in Indonesia, such as inequality and injustice, including those related to the differences between Jakarta and areas outside Jakarta and the differences between Java Island and other islands.

According to him, inequality is a dangerous phenomenon in Indonesia. In fact, in the economic sector, only a few people control and dominate the economy.

In fact, Anies said that Indonesia's founding fathers were educated people; even though they came from privileged families, they managed to establish this country for all people.

"Not establishing a country for themselves, but for everyone," he continued.

The Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) determined the participants of the 2024 presidential and vice presidential elections, namely the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar with official number 1, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka with official number 2, and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD with official number 3.

The final debate for the 2024 presidential election on Sunday will discuss issues ranging from education, health, employment, culture, information technology, and social welfare and inclusion.

The KPU has set a campaign period from November 28, 2023, to February 10, 2024, followed by a voting day on February 14, 2024.
