"I invite all of us to be motivated and what can we do to the productive population," she noted in a statement received here on Saturday.
At the groundbreaking of vocational high school SMK Asy-Syarif Mitra Industri in Mojokerto, East Java, on Friday (March 8), Fauziyah said, the people must respond quickly to the demographic bonus, as a peak is forecast to occur in 2035.
After that year, Indonesia will begin to enter the aging population period.
The minister explained that in the next few years, the number of people of the productive-age population will continue to increase, with the figure estimated to reach 197.13 million by 2025.
By 2030, some 203 million people are projected to belong to Indonesia's productive age population.
"This is a very short time left for us to prepare this bonus given by God. We need to use this bonus to bring Indonesia to become an advanced nation," she stressed.
Hence, to this end, Fauziyah encouraged the collaboration of the vocational education and training sector with the business and industrial world.
According to the minister, one of the keys to facing the demographic bonus challenge is to continue to strengthen collaboration between education and training in the industry.
The collaboration is expected to aid in preparing skilled human resources in line with the industry's needs.
"In order to have positive results, we need to prepare human resources and the nation's character, so that superior human resources have a strong character," Fauziyah remarked.
