Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah encouraged an ongoing revitalization to boost and expand the capacity, and reach of the OSH inspection. By doing so, efforts to prevent work-related accidents and diseases as well as create a healthy, safe, and productive workforce can truly be made.
“We continue to carry out the revitalization not only at the Samarinda OSH Center but also at other OSH Centers,” she said in a statement issued by her ministry here on Sunday.
On Saturday (March 16), Fauziyah made a working visit to Samarinda, East Kalimantan.
As part of her agenda during the visit, she attended an event titled “Brainstorming for Service Programs of Samarinsa OSH Center and Hazard Handling Strategy in the Workplace”.
She explained that the revitalization of OSH centers is aimed at improving the competence of human resources, OSH inspection infrastructure and facilities so that efforts to boost and expand the OSH inspection can optimally be made.
The minister encouraged those managing the OSH centers to build collaboration and synergy with OSH stakeholders at both national and regional levels.
“This collaboration need to be carried out by Samarinda OSH Center and all OSH centers in Indonesia,” she said.
The Ministry of Manpower suggested that the OSH centers’ work programs be directed at mentoring the OSH personnel through OSH training and competency test by collaborating with professional certification institutions, OSH service companies, hospitals, universities, and ministries/institutions.
This effort is aimed at supporting the capacity improvement and empowerment of OSH personnel, she said.
“Therefore, working with various OSH stakeholders is needed as an effective way to respond to inadequate number of qualified human resources to meet the demands for services and work area coverage as it can hamper services,” she remarked.
