After the meeting, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas said that Indonesia is currently scripting a new history in the transformation of digital services.
"We will be entering integrated national digital services," he noted at the Presidential Palace Complex on Monday.
According to Anas, the President has set priorities for nine main services, which would soon be integrated into a national digital platform called INA Digital.
The minister said that this would be a big step toward the realization of efficient electronic-based government (e-government).
President Widodo has also issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 82 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Digital Transformation and Integration of National Digital Services.
"The presidential regulation was related to government technology (GovTech) because almost all of the top 20 countries in the world have implemented electronic-based government systems," Anas added.
He added that INA Digital managed by state-owned security paper and banknote printing company Peruri will integrate several government services into one portal, support access for the public, and increase interoperability between ministries and institutions.
According to him, there has been a significant increase in Indonesia's ranking in the international electronic government index.
"Our international government development index jumped 30 places from 107 to 77. We are optimistic that if we can realize our target, our index will increase again," he said.
He informed that some of the services that will soon be integrated include population administration, education, health, police, social assistance, and immigration.
The President has also instructed all ministries to integrate with INA Digital by next May.
This integration is expected to support access to services for the community and increase government efficiency and transparency.
"In the future, the public will only need to use one portal with a single sign-on (SSO) access for all services. In May or June, they can also receive their digital population identity (IKD) by using biometrics," Anas said.
