Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Commissioner General Mohammed Rycko Amelza Dahniel drew attention to two ways to prevent terror attacks in Moscow, Russia, from occurring in Indonesia.

"First, we need to build public resilience," Dahniel stated on Monday (March 25).

According to the agency head, public resilience can be built by increasing knowledge for the public to understand that all forms of terror attacks are humanitarian tragedies that could destroy civilization. In fact, no religion teaches acts of terror.

"Second, by practicing effective law enforcement for preventive measures. This aims to teach the perpetrators of terror, who still believe that committing violence is the right thing, that it is a wrong practice," he elaborated.

Dahniel explained that law enforcement begins with arresting terror perpetrators, providing punishment, and conducting rehabilitation through deradicalization programs.

He noted that the deradicalization program includes preparations for terror perpetrators to return to society, including getting back to work.

However, these two methods were mitigation efforts carried out by his side since the Moscow attack was considered to be able to inspire similar events in the country.
