With the recent installation, we have a total of 239 SPKLU units at the Trans Java-Bali and Trans Sumatra Toll Road.Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment has informed that 175 fast-charging type public electric-vehicle charging stations (SPKLUs) have been prepared along the Trans Sumatra-Java Toll Road.
"In the past two weeks, some 175 fast-charging SPKLU units were built," the ministry's deputy coordinator for transport and infrastructure, Rachmat Kaimuddin, said at a press conference on SPKLU preparation ahead of the 2024 Eid al-Fitr homecoming on Thursday.
Information regarding SPKLU locations for homecomers can be accessed on the official Mudikpedia website, he added.
"Our team just got back yesterday. They are responsible to ensure the SPKLU installation from Jakarta to Surabaya," Kaimuddin informed.
On the same occasion, director of retail and commerce at state-owned electricity company PT PLN, Edi Srimulyanti, said that with the addition of 175 SPKLUs, the total number of SPKLUs on the Trans Sumatra-Java Toll Road has increased from 64 previously to 239 at 104 locations.
"With the recent installation, we have a total of 239 SPKLU units at the Trans Java-Bali and Trans Sumatra Toll Road," she said.
According to her, the total number of SPKLUs in Indonesia has reached 1,299, which are spread across 879 locations.
Providing details on SPKLU distribution, Srimulyanti informed that there are 152 units in Sumatra, 899 units in Java, 55 units in Kalimantan, 87 units in Bali, 64 units in Sulawesi, 8 units in Maluku, 27 units in Nusa Tenggara, and 7 units in Papua.
"Besides PLN, other parties also had SPKLU units, outside our 1,299 units," she added.
During the Eid homecoming, the Transportation Ministry has projected that four thousand electric-based passenger cars will be used by homecomers. The figure accounts for 18 percent of the total electric cars in the country, whose number is pegged at 23,238.
