Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) is providing several facilities to offer convenience to its high-speed train users during this year's Eid homecoming (mudik) period.

The company is providing online services for making reservations and rescheduling departures to prospective train passengers on the Whoosh application and the official KCIC website so that they do not need to visit the station for the purpose.

"Online reservations and rescheduling via the Whoosh application and page can be done for those who buy tickets online," KCIC corporate communications manager Emir Monti said at the Whoosh Halim High-Speed Train Station on Saturday.

KCIC has also placed officers to assist passengers at crucial points, such as at station entrances and platform areas.

In addition, the company is providing free takjil (iftar snacks) to train passengers during breaking the fast, especially for travelers departing from Halim and Tegal Luar stations at the departure time of 6:00 p.m. local time.

The train restoration service is also providing a variety of food and drink options to train passengers.
"So, passengers don't need to bother bringing their own food when they are in a hurry and don't have time to buy it at the station, so they can buy it on the train," Monti said.

KCIC is collaborating with the TNI and Polri in ensuring the safety of train passengers. Security posts have been set up on all KCIC train routes.
