Tangerang (ANTARA) - Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, on Friday, conducted a review of the preparedness of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, for the 2024 Eid al-Fitr return flow.

On the occasion, Sumadi inspected various facilities at Terminal 1 of the airport, including the Eid homecoming services integrated post.

The minister noted that based on data, the number of plane passengers is projected to spike on April 14-15.

As a precautionary measure to handle the spike, he urged all officers at state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II to continue to enhance the quality of airport services.

"It is necessary to work hand in hand. We would also like to remind you to pay attention to the luggage services since people usually bring a plethora of items during Eid trips," he pointed out.

"Hence, all airlines should make preparations while collaborating massively," he emphasized.

Based on his inspection of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Sumadi said that the airport had been properly running all flight procedures, with its facilities working optimally.

He also viewed Eid homecoming exodus services offered at the airport as adequate while appealing to all relevant stakeholders to continue to make preparations to ensure that the Eid return flow runs smoothly as well.

The minister then suggested that people start returning home on Saturday (April 13) to avoid heavy traffic.

"I advise people to join the return flow tomorrow instead of Sunday or Monday. Nevertheless, we will continue to make proper preparatory measures," he stated.
