The airport’s general manager, Handy Heryudhitiawan, said here on Wednesday that the number of domestic passengers at the Bali airport is expected to reach 473,008 in the period from April 3–18, 2024.
The transportation post will provide services to passengers experiencing difficulties at the airport.
"We are here 24 hours and will take care of any questions, usually related to the plane route, schedule changes, where the airline counter is located, and about land transportation," he said.
He explained that his side saw the importance of establishing the Eid transportation post at the domestic terminal based on the projected passenger surge.
As per estimates, there will be an increase in the number of passengers from 28 thousand passengers daily during normal days to 33 thousand a day during the Eid holidays.
In total, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is expected to serve 1,012,005 passengers during the 16-day Eid holiday period, consisting of 473,008 domestic and 538,997 international passengers.
The Eid transportation post has been set up between the domestic terminal’s departure and arrival gates.
The airport is expected to experience peak arrivals on April 7 with 33,300 estimated passengers, while the peak return flow will be on April 14 with 33,846 estimated passengers.
During this year's Eid al-Fitr momentum, Heryudhitiawan said, there has been a 1.36-percent increase in passenger traffic compared to the year-ago period, when the number of passengers was recorded at 998,521.
Therefore, he said his side is seeking to make the airport services more optimal.
The most popular routes during this year’s exodus period are those culminating in Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Lombok.
