Natuna (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Air Force utilized its aircraft to accommodate its personnel to return to their station in Indonesia's frontier in Natuna Islands District, Riau Islands Province, after the 2024 Eid al-Fitr holiday.

In an official statement received in Natuna on Monday, Commander of the Raden Sadjad Air Base Colonel Dedy Iskandar noted that the Air Force had transported a total of 30 personnel aboard a Hercules A-1340 aircraft belonging to Squadron 31.

He remarked that the transport aircraft departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta and headed to the Supadio Air Base in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, before reaching its final destination at the Raden Sadjad Air Base on Sunday (April 14).

"This travel assistance enables soldiers to cut travel time and costs, allowing them to spend more time with their families (during the Eid holiday)," he stated.

Iskander further noted that the Air Force had also facilitated its personnel in Natuna, on April 4, to reach their hometown in Malang, East Java, during the Eid homecoming exodus using a Hercules A-1315 aircraft.

"The Eid exodus flights serve as a testament to the commitment of the Air Force to ensuring the welfare of all personnel," he pointed out.

The officer then noted that the flights were not solely dedicated to soldiers but also to civil servants as well as cadets of the Air Force Academy at the Raden Sadjad Air Base in Natuna Islands District.

"The flights have become a blessing for us, soldiers stationed in Natuna, who are far from families. This assistance has allowed personnel to gather with their families to celebrate Eid al-Fitr," he concluded.
