Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), through the Kartini Integrated Center in Temanggung, is implementing a program that provides special therapy services for people with disabilities and children with special needs (LATIH ADIKKU).

According to a release broadcast by the ministry, here on Monday, the services were offered for free to people with disabilities and children with special needs from low-income families.

This service also includes the provision of other facilities, such as assistance from psychologists and social workers as well as education or counseling for beneficiary parents.

"The therapy installations include physiotherapy services, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and doctor services," Laily Tri Utami, one of the therapists at the center, stated.

Due to the high level of enthusiasm among members of the community for this therapy service, the center stated that the same service has currently been replicated in several working areas of the center.

The service called Rumah Therapy has been emulated in Madiun City, Magelang City, Magetan District, Wonosobo District, Pekalongan District, Batang District, and Pekalongan City.

On the same occasion, Head of the Wonosobo Village and Community Empowerment Social Service, Hasti, affirmed that the therapy service was highly beneficial for the local community, especially the poor, as they can now avail health facilities for children.

"We would like to thank the Ministry of Social Affairs, through Temanggung Kartini Integrated Center, for facilitating our community with therapy, occupational, and physiotherapy services," she stated.
