According to a press release posted by the Air Force on its Instagram account @militer.udara, Deputy Chief of Staff of the TNI AU, Air Vice Marshal Andyawan Martono, met with international air force officers at the Air and Space Power Conference in Canberra, Australia.
Among the leaders Martono met was Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force, Air Marshal Robert Chipman, with whom he discussed a plan for conducting a joint air force drill.
"The second meeting was held with the Chief of Air Force of the Republic of Singapore (Brigadier-General Kelvin Fan). The TNI AU Deputy Chief of Staff congratulated the appointment of the new Singaporean Air Force Chief," TNI AU informed in the post.
During the meeting, Martono lauded the Singaporean Air Force over its H225 and CH-47F aircraft reaching full operational capability.
Fan, on his part, commended the TNI AU for helping Indonesians take part in the Jupiter Aerobatic Team at the Singapore Air Show held last February.
Martono also held a meeting with the commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force and extended Indonesia's appreciation to Brunei Darussalam for purchasing six H145M helicopters.
He also held a discussion with the Commander of the French Space Command, Major General Philippe Adam, during his visit to Australia.
At the meeting, Martono conveyed TNI AU's keenness to take notes from the AsterX space military exercise carried out by the French military earlier.
He expressed the hope that the meetings would help Indonesia maintain its well-fostered bilateral cooperation with the countries, especially in air defense.
