The Ministry of Defense, in its official press release received here on Thursday, stated that Minister Prabowo received Ambassador Chakravorty at the Ministry's office in Jakarta on May 8.
The two spoke about the Indonesia-India cooperation that has been running as well as discussed collaboration opportunities that can be built in future.
"I believe you can enhance cooperation and foster harmonious relations between the two countries. The Defense Ministry is ready to cooperate (with India)," Prabowo told Chakravorty.
During the meeting, President-elect Prabowo emphasized that the current priority of the two countries is ensuring and maintaining harmonious bilateral relations.
He pressed for bolstering cooperation that benefits both parties in future.
"Our discussions are constructive and there are promising prospects for future collaboration," Prabowo remarked.
He also put the spotlight on the success of the 7th meeting of the Indonesia-India Joint Defense Cooperation Committee (JDCC) in New Delhi, India, on May 3, 2024.
During the JDCC, the Working Group on Defence Industry Cooperation meeting was held that agreed to explore cooperation in the provision of the defense and security tool system.
He said the Defense Ministry was satisfied with the meeting that could expand the scope of defense cooperation between the two countries.
"It is through collaborative efforts like this that we can continue to strengthen friendship and achieve mutual welfare," Prabowo told Chakravorty.
Some of the key events of Indonesia-India defense cooperation in recent months included the planned joint exercise between the Indonesian Military and Indian Military.
