Jakarta (ANTARA) - House Commission IX member, Edy Wuryanto, urged the Health Ministry to handle cases involving 532 teaching midwives passing the recruitment of government employees with work agreements (PPPK), albeit not receiving a Letter of Decision (SK).

“Please resolve this matter. Many of them are no longer young," Wuryanto from the House of Representatives (DPR) stated on Friday.

He explained that the case began when the midwives partaking in the recruitment for selection in 2023 were declared to have passed the recruitment process comprising administrative tests and computer-assisted tests (CAT).

However, those who were supposed to receive an SK and the PPPK Registration Number (NIPPPK) never received both of them, he pointed out.

Wuryanto then recommended the teaching midwives to contact the Ministry of Health. However, the problem has yet to be resolved until now.

“They have followed the process from registration until they have passed. All recruitment phases have been completed," he remarked.

He stated that those midwives had not yet received their SK and NIPPPK due to a maladministration issue in the requirement that had not been in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform.

"The requirement for the PPPK recruitment is stating midwives with Diploma degree but not mentioning whether it is for teaching midwives or regular midwives. This was not a problem in the previous recruitment. Now, the BKN (Indonesian National Civil Service Agency) took this matter up as an issue," he remarked.

According to Edy, the teaching midwives were declared to have passed the PPPK selection and have been providing health services for years. Thus, problems should not arise.

"The issue of their competence to serve in community health centers or hospitals is no longer questionable," Wuryanto emphasized.
