Nusa Dua, Bali (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that world delegates welcomed the introduction of Prabowo Subianto as Indonesian President-Elect during the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Nusa Dua, Bali.

"From the comments I received, they said it is an extraordinary thing that gave a good signal to the market," Pandjaitan remarked during the 10th WWF held in Nusa Dua, Badung District, here on Tuesday.

According to the minister, the introduction indicates that the government transition process and the sustainability of development can go well.

He also assessed that the delegates participating in the forum praised President Joko Widodo who introduced Subianto as his successor for the next government.

"That is a tradition that must be maintained by this nation. A great nation maintains the continuity of its development," he added.

Earlier, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) introduced president-elect Prabowo Subianto for 2024-2029 to guests and delegates at the opening of the 10th WWF at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) here on Monday (May 20).

"On this good occasion, let me introduce Indonesia's president-elect Prabowo Subianto," President Jokowi noted during his speech.

Prabowo seated in the front row immediately stood up and conveyed his greetings to the delegates.

The introduction was welcomed by applause from participants present in the BICC's Mangupura Room in Nusa Dua, Bali.

Jokowi told the participants that Prabowo currently serves as Minister of Defense. He said he will continue Indonesia's commitment to contributing to the global water management.

The 10th WWF, themed "Water for Shared Prosperity," is being held in Bali on May 18-25, 2024. President Jokowi officially opened the WWF series on Monday (May 20).

A total of 244 water-related discussion sessions at the 10th WWF are expected to provide concrete results regarding global water management.
