"This afternoon, we are at the Patra Trading LPG Filling Station in Tanjung Priok. We have to check the 3 kg LPG cylinders needed by the community every day," he remarked here on Saturday.
The minister conducted this check in response to the monitoring result of Goods in a Wrapped State (BDKT) of 3 kg LPG cylinders at the Patra Trading Filling Station in Tanjung Priok.
The minister's visit was also a follow-up to the result of the inspection conducted by the Ministry of Trade, through its Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Orderly Commerce on Monday (May 20).
"Supervision is carried out in order to ensure the labeling and quantity in trade transactions to provide legal certainty for the public and protection to consumers," Hasan stated.
The minister confirmed that his side had checked LPG filling stations in the areas of North Jakarta, Tangerang, Purwakarta, and Cimahi. From these areas, his side found 11 SPBEs that did not fill LPG cylinders in accordance with the provisions.
To this end, Minister Hasan urged the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to strengthen regular supervision.
He also called on state oil and gas company Pertamina to take strict action against fraudulent SPBE operators.
Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Marketing Director Mars Ega Legowo commended the synergy between the Trade Ministry, Pertamina, and the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry in supervising the LPG cylinders.
Legowo attributed the finding of LPG cylinders with erroneous quantity to several factors. Moreover, he drew attention to the finding of gas cylinders holding more than 3 kg of gas.
