This application has been made public so that everyone, including pilgrims, officers, families, and the public, can monitor the implementation of Hajj.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Special staff to the Religious Affairs Minister, Wibowo Prasetyo, has invited the public to use the "Kawal Haji" application, saying it has many features to support a smooth and safe Hajj pilgrimage.

"This application has been made public so that everyone, including pilgrims, officers, families, and the public, can monitor the implementation of Hajj," he said at a media meeting about the app here on Monday.

He informed that the Android version of the app has been made available for download on Play Store, while the iOS version is still being developed.

People can opt to log in as guests to access the reports submitted on the app, while Hajj pilgrims can access the app by entering their e-mail and passport numbers and activating the location.

This has been done so that Hajj officers can quickly provide solutions to Hajj pilgrims who encounter problems.

The Kawal Haji application has two main features, Wibowo said. First, it provides reports on Hajj pilgrims, especially related to consumption services, accommodation, and transportation.

The app can also assist Hajj pilgrims who get separated from their group or forget the directions to their hotels.

The second feature of the app is that it can track the location and movement of pilgrims, and thereby support search efforts for lost pilgrims.

"Kawal Haji is here to be a connecting channel between pilgrims, officers, families, and the public, as well as other stakeholders. (Through the app,) Hajj pilgrims can report, help each other, share information, and appreciate (Hajj officers)," Prasetyo informed.

The app, he said, seeks to strengthen the Religious Ministry's commitment and support the protection of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the Holy Land.

"The Kawal Haji app enriches alternatives for pilgrims to report problems. It can become a channel of praise when pilgrims want to convey them to the officers," he added.
