State Secretary Minister Pratikno made the statement here on Monday after the announcement of Susantono's resignation as Head of OIKN and Dhony Rahajoe as Deputy Head of OIKN.
“Bambang Susantono will be given a new assignment, which is directly to help Mr. President strengthen international cooperation to accelerate the development of Nusantara," he stated.
Pratikno stated that discussions pertaining to the resignation of Susantono and Rahajoe had been ongoing for a long time, but the president's decision related to it was just published today.
As earlier reported, President Jokowi appointed Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono as Acting Head of OIKN and Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Raja Juli Antoni as the OIKN Deputy Head.
Susantono was born in Yogyakarta on November 4, 1963. President Jokowi appointed Susantono as Head of OIKN in March 2022.
His expertise in infrastructure planning and public transportation led him to occupy the position of Deputy for Infrastructure and Regional Development at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs for the 2007-2010 period.
In finding solutions to the country’s transportation problems, Susantono, who was the General Chairman of the Indonesian Transportation Society (MTI) for the 2004-2010 period, laid greater emphasis on a humanist transportation system.
At the international level, Susantono served as Vice President of the Eastern Asia Society of Transportation Studies (EASTS) and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the SouthSouthNorth (SSN) Foundation in Cape Town, South Africa, which is engaged in climate change and the environment.
