"This is important for every citizen to increase the spirit of caring for others, as well as continue to cultivate our ethical and moral values," Moerdijat said in a statement here on Sunday.
She said that maintaining the value of caring for others and ethical and moral values can strengthen national unity.
According to her, the Eid al-Adha celebration, which is filled with animal sacrifice activities, is a momentum for all elements of the nation to increase the awareness to care for others.
The value of raising concern for others, she said, can strengthen efforts to build the character of gotong royong or mutual cooperation among fellow citizens.
She hoped that the moral, ethical, and caring for each other values taught in the implementation of sacrificing animals during Eid al-Adha will continue to be maintained.
Those characters are needed to answer the nation's various challenges, she added.
The country is in dire need of the citizens who prioritize moral and ethical values in their actions.
In order to compete with other nations, Moerdijat said, Indonesians must continue to increase the spirit of unity and concern for others.
The spirit of unity can grow if concern for fellow citizens continue to be fostered. That way, Indonesia has the ability to compete with other nations in the world, she said.
"Happy Eid al-Adha 1445 H to every citizen who celebrates it. Hopefully the moral, ethical and concern for other values taught in this worship can arouse the spirit of unity," she added.
